How to Start September Feeling Spiritually Aligned: 8 Rituals for a Fresh Start

Reset your energy, reconnect with yourself, and step into September feeling grounded, intentional, and spiritually aligned.

Have you ever reached the beginning of September and suddenly felt like you need to reset your energy, your routines, and your mindset?

That’s exactly how September feels to me.

There’s something about the end of summer that naturally makes me want to slow down, reflect, clean up my space, reconnect with myself, and become more intentional about where my energy is going. The cooler mornings, changing seasons, and return to routines make September feel like a fresh chapter.

And this September feels especially exciting because I have a little adventure planned.

I’m going on a week-long yacht trip to Desolation Sound in British Columbia!

I’m actually writing this post before I leave because I want to get everything organized, set my intentions for the month, and then truly allow myself to enjoy my time off. I don’t want to be away thinking about work, my blog, or everything I need to do next.

I want to be present.

Since my birthday is September 14, this trip also feels a little like a birthday vacation. Not that the whole trip is about my birthday, but I love the idea of welcoming another year of my life somewhere beautiful, surrounded by nature, water, adventure, good food, and people I enjoy.

We’ll be taking the yacht through Desolation Sound, a stunning coastal area of British Columbia known for its mountains, forests, islands, coves, and beautiful ocean scenery.

We’ll spend most of our time on the yacht, which is honestly what I’m most excited about. Slow mornings, relaxing on the water, enjoying the scenery, eating good food, and simply having nowhere I need to rush off to.

We’ll also dock in some of the small communities along the way, visit local restaurants, explore a little, and get out onto some hiking trails.

But mostly? I want to enjoy the yacht.

And I think that fits perfectly with my September theme this year: slowing down, reconnecting with myself, and actually enjoying the life I’m creating.

For me, spirituality isn’t about being perfect or following complicated rituals. It’s about staying connected to myself, listening to my intuition, protecting my peace, spending time in nature, caring for my body, and being intentional about the life I’m creating.

So if you’ve been feeling mentally cluttered, emotionally drained, disconnected, or simply ready for a fresh start, September can be the perfect time for a spiritual reset.

What Does It Mean to Feel Spiritually Aligned?

Spiritual alignment can mean something different to everyone.

For me, it means my thoughts, actions, values, habits, and lifestyle feel connected to the person I’m becoming.

It doesn’t mean I’m happy every day or that I always know exactly what I’m doing.

Instead, it’s about awareness.

I notice what gives me energy and what drains me. I listen to my intuition. I become more conscious of my boundaries. I pay attention when something no longer feels right.

Sometimes spiritual alignment looks like meditation, journaling, crystals, yoga, or spending time in nature.

Other times, it looks like cleaning my home, taking a walk, getting enough sleep, saying no, or stepping away from something that continually disrupts my peace.

Your spiritual practice doesn’t have to be separate from your everyday life.

It can be part of how you start your morning, how you move your body, how you care for your home, how you spend your time, and how you speak to yourself.

1. Set Your September Intentions

Before deciding everything you want to accomplish in September, think about how you want to feel.

This is one of the biggest differences between setting goals and setting intentions.

A goal might be:

“I want to exercise consistently.”

An intention could be:

“I want to care for my body with consistency and respect.”

A goal might be:

“I want to make more money.”

An intention could be:

“I am open to aligned opportunities and abundance.”

Some September intention words you could choose include:

  • Peace
  • Abundance
  • Confidence
  • Discipline
  • Wellness
  • Love
  • Self-trust
  • Spiritual growth
  • Creativity
  • Expansion

Choose three to five words that represent the energy you want to embody throughout the month.

Then use them as a guide.

If peace is one of your intentions, ask whether your choices are supporting peace.

If confidence is your intention, look for opportunities to trust yourself.

If abundance is your intention, consider how you can become more open to receiving while also taking practical action.

Your intentions become more powerful when they influence your everyday decisions.

2. Cleanse Your Energy

Sometimes we don’t need to add something new to our lives.

We need to clear what is already taking up space.

An energetic cleanse can be a beautiful way to symbolically release old energy before stepping into a new month.

You could:

  • Open your windows
  • Clean and declutter your home
  • Take a salt bath
  • Use essential oils
  • Burn incense if it is part of your practice
  • Spend time in nature
  • Meditate
  • Journal about what you’re releasing
  • Take a social media break
  • Unfollow accounts that negatively affect your mindset

For me, spending time in nature is one of the easiest ways to feel grounded.

There is something about being surrounded by trees, fresh air, open space, and the natural rhythm of the seasons that helps put things into perspective.

Nature doesn’t rush its transitions.

Summer doesn’t desperately try to stay forever.

Autumn doesn’t arrive early.

Everything changes when it is ready.

That’s a beautiful reminder for us, too.

As you cleanse your energy, ask:

What am I ready to leave behind?

It could be comparison, overthinking, an old belief, a habit, a relationship dynamic, or simply a version of yourself that no longer fits.

You don’t have to bring August’s energy into September.

3. Use Meditation to Reconnect With Yourself

Meditation is one of the simplest ways to create space between yourself and the noise of everyday life.

You don’t need an hour-long practice.

Start with five to ten minutes.

Sit somewhere comfortable, close your eyes, and focus on your breathing. When your thoughts wander, gently return your attention to your breath.

The goal isn’t necessarily to have a completely empty mind.

It’s to become more aware of your thoughts without automatically reacting to every one.

September meditation can also become a visualization practice.

Imagine yourself at the end of the month.

How do you feel?

What are you proud of?

What has changed?

How have you been taking care of yourself?

What opportunities have appeared?

What energy are you carrying?

I love focusing on how I want my life to feel, not just what I want to accomplish.

I want to work toward my goals while still enjoying peaceful mornings, movement, nature, spirituality, and the little moments that make everyday life beautiful.

That balance is important to me.

If you’re creating a little sacred corner for your September reset, a comfortable meditation cushion can make your practice feel even more intentional — because your spiritual routine deserves a space that feels just as good as the energy you’re creating.

4. Journal Your Way Into Alignment

Journaling is one of my favourite ways to get honest with myself.

Sometimes your thoughts feel overwhelming simply because they’re all floating around in your head.

Putting them on paper gives you the opportunity to actually see what you’re thinking and feeling.

Try these September journal prompts:

  • What am I ready to release?
  • What do I want more of this month?
  • What do I want less of?
  • What is currently draining my energy?
  • What is my intuition trying to tell me?
  • Where am I currently out of alignment?
  • Where am I playing small?
  • What am I calling into my life?
  • What would make September feel meaningful?
  • What would make September feel beautiful?
  • What would my most aligned self choose?

One of my favourite questions is:

“If September went exactly the way I wanted, what would my life look and feel like by the end of the month?”

Don’t censor your answer.

Let yourself dream.

Let yourself want beautiful things.

You can want a peaceful life and still be ambitious.

You can want softness and success.

You can want spirituality and abundance.

You don’t have to choose.

5. Choose Crystals for Your September Energy

If crystals are part of your spiritual practice, you can choose them based on the energy you want to focus on.

Citrine — Abundance and Confidence

Citrine is commonly associated with abundance, optimism, confidence, and prosperity.

Clear Quartz — Clarity and Intention

Clear quartz is often used symbolically for clarity, focus, and intention-setting.

Rose Quartz — Love and Self-Compassion

Rose quartz is traditionally associated with love, compassion, emotional softness, and self-love.

Amethyst — Intuition and Spiritual Connection

Amethyst is commonly connected with meditation, intuition, calm, and spiritual practices.

Moonstone — Intuition and New Beginnings

Moonstone is often associated with intuition, cycles, feminine energy, and new beginnings.

Pyrite — Confidence and Abundance

Pyrite is commonly associated with ambition, confidence, prosperity, and abundance.

I love having crystals around because they make my spiritual routines feel intentional and beautiful.

I don’t expect a crystal to magically create my dream life.

The crystal is the reminder. I’m still the one doing the work.

6. Create September Affirmations

The way you speak to yourself matters.

Affirmations can help you intentionally focus your attention on thoughts and beliefs that support the energy you’re trying to cultivate.

Try these September affirmations:

I trust myself and my intuition.

I am worthy of a peaceful and abundant life.

I protect my energy and my peace.

I am open to aligned opportunities.

I allow myself to receive.

I am becoming more confident every day.

I don’t chase what requires me to abandon myself.

I am creating a life that feels as beautiful as it looks.

I can be soft and still be powerful.

What is meant for me does not require me to force it.

Choose the affirmations that genuinely resonate with you.

Write them in your journal, repeat them during meditation, or place one somewhere you’ll see it throughout the day.

The goal isn’t to pretend everything is perfect.

It’s to become more intentional about the thoughts you repeatedly give your attention to.

Keep a deck of affirmation cards nearby for those mornings when you need a little reminder that you are worthy, powerful, supported, and fully capable of creating a life that feels aligned.

7. Create an Energetic Reset

A spiritual reset isn’t only about meditation, crystals, or affirmations.

Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is get your everyday life back in order.

Clean your bedroom.

Declutter your closet.

Organize your workspace.

Wash your bedding.

Take a break from social media.

Move your body.

Go for a walk.

Practice yoga.

Do your strength training.

Eat nourishing food.

Spend time outside.

Create a peaceful morning routine.

For me, movement is a big part of feeling grounded. Weight training, Pilates, walking, and yoga all give me different ways to reconnect with my body.

When I feel physically connected to myself, I also find it easier to feel mentally and emotionally grounded.

I love having a beautiful yoga mat ready for those moments when I need to reconnect with my body, move my energy, and remind myself that taking care of myself is part of the glow-up.

Your environment matters too.

If you’re calling in peace, create peaceful surroundings.

If you’re calling in wellness, care for your body.

If you’re calling in confidence, keep promises to yourself.

If you’re calling in abundance, take practical steps toward your financial goals.

Your actions should support your intentions.

8. Decide What You Want to Call Into Your Life

Now ask yourself:

What am I calling into my life this September?

Not what you think you should want.

Not what looks impressive.

What do you genuinely desire?

Maybe you’re calling in:

  • Abundance
  • Love
  • Confidence
  • Financial growth
  • Better health
  • New opportunities
  • Deeper spirituality
  • Creativity
  • Adventure
  • Peace
  • More time in nature
  • A beautiful home
  • Meaningful relationships
  • Personal freedom
  • Self-love

Write it down.

Then ask yourself:

“Who do I need to become to receive this?”

If you’re calling in abundance, become more intentional with your money and opportunities.

If you’re calling in peace, stop entertaining unnecessary chaos.

If you’re calling in confidence, start trusting yourself.

If you’re calling in wellness, create habits that support your body.

If you’re calling in your dream life, start making choices that move you toward it.

Manifestation isn’t simply about wishing for something.

It’s about becoming available for the life you’re asking for.

Your energy sets the direction. Your actions create the momentum.

My September Spiritual Reset

My September Spiritual Reset

This year, I’m approaching my September reset a little differently.

Instead of feeling like I need to come into the month with a long list of things I need to fix, accomplish, or change, I’m giving myself permission to simply be present and enjoy where I am.

I think that’s something I’ve been learning more and more lately: alignment isn’t always about doing more.

Sometimes it’s about knowing when to slow down.

My yacht trip feels like the perfect opportunity to practice that.

I want to be fully present for the little moments — waking up somewhere beautiful, watching the water, sitting outside with a coffee, feeling the fresh air, exploring a hiking trail, finding a little restaurant in a town we’ve never been to, and having those random conversations and laughs that become the memories you end up holding onto.

I don’t want to spend the whole trip thinking about my next blog post, my next goal, or what I should be doing.

I want to actually be there.

And I think there’s something spiritual about that.

Being present enough to notice the scenery.

Being grateful enough to appreciate where you are.

Being still enough to hear your own thoughts.

Being relaxed enough to enjoy something without needing it to be productive.

That’s the energy I want to carry into September.

I want to continue working toward the things I’m manifesting, but I also want to remember that my life isn’t waiting for me at some imaginary finish line.

This is my life right now.

And I want to enjoy it.

So when I come home from my trip, I hope I feel refreshed rather than like I need another reset. I want to bring that slower, more intentional energy back into my everyday routines — into my mornings, my workouts, my journaling, my work, and the way I spend my time.

Maybe that’s the real reset I need this year.

Not becoming a completely new version of myself.

Just becoming more present for the woman I already am and the life I’m already creating.

September Is Your Invitation to Realign

You don’t need to completely reinvent yourself every month.

Sometimes you simply need to pause and ask whether the way you’re living still feels aligned with who you’re becoming.

For me, September is that reminder.

It’s a chance to clean up my energy, reconnect with spirituality, spend time in nature, move my body, journal, meditate, set intentions, and get clear about what I want next.

I’m releasing what no longer fits.

I’m making room for what’s next.

I’m trusting my intuition.

And I’m reminding myself that I don’t have to chase everything.

Some things are allowed to find me.

September isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about coming back to yourself with more clarity, intention, and self-trust.

And maybe that’s the real spiritual reset we all need sometimes.

Your September Spiritual Alignment Check-In

Before you step into September, grab your journal and answer these three questions:

  1. What am I ready to release so I can enter September feeling lighter?
  2. What am I calling into my life this month, and what action can I take to support it?
  3. What energy do I want to embody throughout September?

Choose Your Energy: A or B

When something no longer feels aligned, which version of you are you choosing?

A: I keep forcing it because I’ve already invested so much time and energy.

B: I trust my intuition, release what no longer fits, and make space for something more aligned.

Final Thoughts

September doesn’t have to be perfect.

It doesn’t have to be your most productive month, your most disciplined month, or the month where you suddenly have everything figured out.

It simply needs to be intentional.

Sometimes the most powerful spiritual reset isn’t adding another ritual to your routine. It’s slowing down long enough to listen to yourself, releasing what no longer feels aligned, and choosing to move forward with more clarity, peace, and self-trust.

And sometimes it’s taking a week-long yacht trip through beautiful British Columbia, putting your phone away, watching the water, exploring somewhere new, and remembering that life is meant to be enjoyed too.

You don’t have to become a completely different woman this September.

You can simply come back to yourself.

Come back to your intuition.

Come back to your peace.

Come back to your body.

Come back to your dreams.

Come back to the woman you know you’re becoming.

Let this month be your reminder that you’re allowed to want a life that feels peaceful, beautiful, abundant, and deeply aligned.

And if you’re ready for a fresh start, let it begin with one simple decision:

“I’m ready to come back to myself.”

Until next time… keep becoming the grounded, glowing you. ✨
